Burke Station Square Park & Recreation
The neighborhood features a pool, park, and several walking trails. The park is accessible by a walking trail from Kerrwood Street or Ridge Ford Drive. The park contains 2 tennis courts, backetball court, and playground (map). Two walking trails originate from Ridge Ford Drive near the neighborhood entrance. One travels through the woods between Brook Ford Road and Kara Place and the other travels throught the woods to Banning Place.

Audrey Moore RECenter at Wakefield Park is approximately 76,000 square feet in size and houses a 50m x 25yd pool, one 3m and two 1m diving boards, and Super Slide. The natatorium also contains spectator seating, doors that lead to a spacious outdoor sundeck, and locker rooms containing saunas and showers. In addition to the various racquetball/wallyball, and squash courts, the center has a large gymnasium with six basketball hoops, and volleyball nets. The center also contains a cycle studio, a dance room, a pottery lab and kiln, an arts and crafts room, a photography lab, three multi-purpose activity rooms, and a senior center.
Adjacent to the RECenter is Wakefield Skate Park The Skate Park offers a chance for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the thrills and excitement of skateboarding, inline skating, and BMX biking on our Freestyle and Competition courses. The Freestyle course consists of bank ramps, 4 foot quarter pipe, pyramid, grind rails and a grind box. The Competition course consists of a double jum-box, euro gap, bank ramp with kicker, roll-over radius, and a grind box. We also offer an outstanding viewing area with picnic tables and tents to allow for an excellent experience watching your friends and family in the skate park.

South Run RECenter is approximately 34,000 square feet. The center houses a 25 x 25 yard heated, indoor pool with ramp access, two one meter diving boards and a beach/wading area. The natatorium encompasses a poolside spa, outdoor sundeck, family changing room, and locker rooms with showers and saunas. The lower level of the center consists of two racquetball/wallyball courts, and a fitness center with Cybex VR2 equipment. On the entry level are three multi-purpose rooms and a lobby that overlooks the pool.
The grounds surrounding the center are comprised of 182 acres, which include soccer and baseball/softball fields, two tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, a field house with newly installed athletic turf playing surface, accessible playground, and an off-leash dog area. Paved trails connect the RECenter with Burke Lake Park and Lake Mercer.

Accotink Park’s 493 acres include a 55-acre lake, wetlands, and streams offering unique views of waterfowl and marsh life.
Facilities and activities vary with the season and include canoe, rowboat and pedal boat rentals, fishing, tour-boat rides, boat launch, bait and tackle sales, 9-green double holed miniature golf course, antique carousel, snack bar, pavilion shelters (reservations encouraged), picnic areas with grills, restrooms, playground, a 3.75-mile hiking/biking trail and 2 open play fields.
Small sailboats permitted; swimming, windsurfing and gas powered boat motors are prohibited. Virginia State Fishing License required for fishing.
Picnic areas, playground, pavilions, trails and open play fields are open daily year-round, 7 a.m. to dusk.

A 218-acre lake with fishing, boating, rowboat rental, camping, a miniature train, a carousel, outdoor volleyball courts, open fields, an 18-hole par 3 golf course, clubhouse with snack bar and driving range, disk golf, horse shoe pits, an ice cream parlor, picnic areas with grills, 3 playgrounds, trails, amphitheater, and a brand new miniature golf course. Acres of undisturbed woodland, quiet trails, splashing streams and a tranquil pond are just a few of the reasons to visit Hidden Pond Nature Center. Tucked away in Springfield, Hidden Pond is a neighborhood haven filled with wondrous things. Hidden Pond, at 25 acres, lies adjacent to the much larger Pohick Stream Valley Park which boasts over 700 acres. A new 2000-foot trail and bridge has connected the two parks, so that many more neighbors and guests can visit the Hidden Pond Nature Center as well as the pond, streams, wetlands, woods and other quiet places that these preserves have to offer.
The nature center, which is accessible to everyone, features exhibits and live displays which orient you to the park and the natural world of Fairfax County. In addition, the center has a small sales area featuring books and other items for the nature enthusiast and nature study areas for group visitors. Complementing the nature center are stream side and woodland walking trails, a self-guided nature trail and a one-acre pond. The park also features lighted tennis courts and a children’s play area.
